"I'm Freaking Out" in Toronto ON
On March 5th Worry Club & Edgehill stopped by Toronto’s "The Garrison" for a indie rock-fueled night!
The Garrison was lined up out the venue, with fans determined to arrive early and not miss a single moment. As the door's opened fans rushed in to purchase show exclusive merch and vinyl's from the band's, who both recently released new projects.
Edgehill opened the evening with a set which defined the artistry that would take place this night. Their performance was full of alternative, indie, and rock influenced tracks from throughout their discography such including "Jonny's Friend" & "Just Got Clean" to give the crowd something familiar before showcasing the new material from their debut record "Ode to the Greyhouse" an intimate and emotion fueled body of work filled with many standout tracks. "Doubletake" & "Love 2 Go" stuck with me the most this night along with a captivating last song performance of "Lookaround" which had frontman "Chris Kelly" break out into tears while belting out to the filled up Garrison.
When it came time for WorryClub to take the stage, The Garrison was growing with anticipation and eager to hear the new material. The band prepared a setlist which included previous releases along with a full performance of "I'm Freaking Out" the band's debut album which just released February 20th. The music is raw, gritty, and is wrapped in that beautiful bedroom pop sound that frontman "Chase Walsh" perfectly captures. The set opened with "Tina Fey" & "Little F*cker" of which are also the intro tracks to the album. As the night progressed through each minute it started to feel like something more than just listening to some songs in a room, there was an embracing energy that made you feel like you belonged in that room singing along with everyone else in attendance. Tracks such as "Anything Else" & "Fade Away" really showcased that feeling and the night came to an end with "Too dumb to die" the final album track which offers a anthemic indie rock sound, putting you in the end credits of your favorite 2000's movie.
The "I'm Freaking Out" tour is just starting off with the Toronto date being 2 of the 28 stop's WorryClub is making throughout North America this march and april, you can catch them on the road with Edgehill or other supporting acts Bugsy, Bikeroutes, or Wakelee.
